24th Utility Investigation School

We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with Kiewit to conduct the 24th ASCE UESI/BAMI-I UIS School from December 9-13 at Kiewit’s headquarters campus in Denver, CO. This marks our fifth UIS event in Denver and our second collaboration with Kiewit. We are grateful to Kiewit for generously providing classroom and on-site demonstration facilities. This partnership underscores our commitment to expanding educational boundaries and enhancing practical knowledge in utility engineering and surveying.

Join us from Dec.9th to 13th, 2024, for a transformative week of learning, networking, and professional development in the dynamic field of subsurface utility engineering.

This UIS school has been designed for

  • Engineers and surveyors and project managers providing deliverables that include results and depictions of utility investigations.
  • Consulting engineers, Employees of utility companies, state DOTs and local highway agencies, regulatory agencies, local governments, etc.
  • Design engineers for infrastructure projects with significant expected utility congestion

We will offer 2 options to the UIS students.

Course Highlights:

Two-Day Course (December 9-10, 2024):

  • Theme: Risks of Existing Utilities in Infrastructure Projects and Their Management
  • Overview:
  • Explore the various risks presented by utilities in infrastructure projects.
  • Learn how to apply the latest national engineering standards ASCE 38-22
  • Target Audience: Project owners, managers, designers, and builders.
  • Earn 16 Professional Development Hours (PDH).

 Five-Day Course (December 9-13, 2024):

  • Theme: What Every Project Owner, Designer, and Constructor Needs to Know About Utilities on Their Projects – AND – Geophysics and Utility Investigation Tools
  • Overview:
  • Importance and application of subsurface utility investigations, including pipe and cable locators, ground penetrating radar (single and multi-channel), time-domain electromagnetics, magnetometers, elastic wave methods, and more.
  • Target Audience: Professionals and their teams engaged in the field of subsurface utility engineering.
  • Earn 40 Professional Development Hours (PDH).
