SAN ANTONIO, TX — On the opening day of the Underground Infrastructure Conference (UIC) and 27th Utility Investigation School (UIS), the Buried Asset Management Institute–International (BAMI-I) convened its annual Membership and Board of Directors Meeting.

Held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, this pivotal gathering marked the official installation of the 2026-2027 Board of Directors. The meeting was a hybrid event, bringing together 5 in-person directors and 15 virtual attendees from across the globe, demonstrating the institute’s commitment to accessibility and international collaboration.

Key Outcomes:

  • Installation of Leadership: Dr. Tom Iseley (President), Richard Thomasson (Vice President), Leonard Ingram (Treasurer), and Greg Jeffries (Secretary) were reconfirmed to lead the executive team.
  • Strategic Planning: The Board set a robust agenda for the next two years, focusing on expanding the Industry Leadership Partnership (ILP) for students and increasing the reach of the Utility Investigation School (UIS).
  • Global Alignment: With directors calling in from as far away as Colombia and China, the meeting underscored BAMI-I’s role as a unifying global force in asset management.

“The hybrid format allowed us to tap into the full breadth of our leadership’s expertise, regardless of geography,” said Dr. Tom Iseley. “The energy in the room and on the screen was focused on one thing: advancing the science of buried assets.”
